Today is International Golden Retriever Day! International Golden Retriever Day first
started in 2012. The Golden Retriever is one of the most popular dog breeds in the US. They
are native to Scotland, and were bred in the 1800s to be skilled in hunting and swimming long
distances. The Golden Retriever is a mix of two of his dogs, a Retriever and a Tweed Water
Spaniel. They are calm natured, intelligent and playful, which makes them the ideal choice for
any dog lover. They also make great disability or assistance animals, detection dogs, and
search-and-rescue dogs. Here are some ways to celebrate today:

  • Take your Golden Retriever to the park or for a swim!
    • Golden Retrievers love to be active. Go to the park or for a swim, and enjoy quality time with your pal.
  • Adopt A Golden Retriever!
    • If you’re thinking of adding an addition to your home, you should adopt a Golden
Retriever. As mentioned above, Golden Retrievers are a great choice for a family
      dog.
